Is your home in need of a facelift but you don’t want to break the bank or maybe you aren’t up for the stress and mess of a renovation? Well good news is there are many ways to update your home without having to worry about either of those!
The Entry Way:
First impressions really do matter!
The entrance way is the first thing you and your guests see when approaching your home. You can dramatically change the look and curb appeal of your home or entry way just by changing the front door! Don’t worry if it’s not in your budget because you can always PAINT it! Try a bold new colour, change the house numbers, or add some outdoor lighting.
We spend a lot of time in our kitchens, not only cooking but gathering with friends and family so it’s important to love that space! Below are a few budget friendly updates to give the kitchen a refresher.
Update The Backsplash:
Updating your backsplash can be easy not only physically but on the pocketbook as well. Go simple with paint or wallpaper. Use inexpensive tin ceiling tiles, or shiplap, stainless steel, magnetic or chalkboard paint!
Replace Cabinet Hardware:
Replacing cabinet hardware is an inexpensive and easy update. For an even more budget friendly update try painting the ones you already have!
Paint Your Cabinets:
If your cabinets need more of a facelift, guess what you can paint those too! When done right it will look like a brand-new kitchen and could add value to your home.
The Living Room:
Add an architectural visual with trim and crown moulding to your living room or any room for that matter. Trim and mouldings (especially crown moulding) have a great way of making your home look upgraded.
Swap out your artwork or create some new ones by framing left over swatches of fabric or wallpaper.
Move your furniture around or add new lighting to brighten and change the mood of the room.
Change up the Vanity Area:
Spruce up your bathroom by changing out the faucets (and guess what…you could paint those too!) , adding a frame to a frameless mirror or framing out a builders tub to give it a more luxurious look.
All Over the House:
Last but not nearly least don’t be afraid to illuminate your space. Adding new light fixtures to any space can certainly change the look and feel of the entire room without doing anything else. Go big and bold or small and simple.
In addition to the above here are some other quick updates you can do without breaking the bank!
- Painting an old vinyl floor…yup it can be done!
- Painting walls of course.
- Did you know decluttering is one of the best ways to give your home a facelift?!
- Repurpose something you already have by splashing some paint on it or use it in a different way!
- Add some bold patterns to items using painters tape and let your imagination run wild.
- Change out that old plain shower curtain from something fun.
- Change the light bulbs! Changing the amount of light in a room can make it brighter and more open or cozy and dramatic.
Be creative and have some fun while NOT breaking the bank!
